FHS Explosion Dance Show!!!!

Do you like to dance? Do you like to awesome dancers dance? Then you want to come out to the FHS Explosion Dance Company Spring Show Debut on March 2nd 7-8:30pm in the FHS Auditorium. Tickets will be available next week!

2018 Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program

The Annual Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program encourages minority and underserved female sophomores and juniors to pursue higher education, academic excellence, personal development, civic involvement and positive relationships. The six-month program culminates with the Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Ball on November 11th. Apply online by March 5th. More information is available in Guidance.

Choir Auditions

Congratulations to Sound for earning 2nd runner up in Tier 1 at the Best of the Midwest show choir invitational at Center Grove this weekend. Electrum was named grand champion in the small mixed division as well winning best music and best visual performance in Tier 2. If you want to join our award winning Choir Program, auditions are occurring all week this week in F132. See Mr. J or Miss T in F118 for details.

College Goal Sunday

Seniors, you can get free help filling out your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by attending College Goal Sunday on February 25th at 2:00 p.m. at seven Indianapolis area locations. Financial aid professionals will be ready with free help so you and your family can file the FAFSA online that afternoon. More information is available in Guidance.

Get your passports ready!

Remember Spanish students to bring your parent or guardian to H136 on Wednesday night at 6:30 to hear all about the details for Spain 2019. See Señora Gutting or Señora Helmkamp if you have any questions!

Greater Indianapolis Northside College Fair

Plan to attend the Greater Indianapolis Northside College Fair on Wednesday, March 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grand Park Events Center in Westfield. Learn about admissions, academics, financial aid and student life at over 100 colleges and universities. All interested students and parents are welcome ! More information is available in Guidance.

Scholarship Opportunities

Seniors, new scholarships are available. The Williams Comfort Air ExtraordinAIRy Treasures Scholarship is for seniors who demonstrate extraordinary qualities on a daily basis. The Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship is for senior high school athletes. The Abbott and Fenner Scholarship requires only an essay to apply. Scholarship Opportunities

Seniors, more scholarships are available. The Fishers Sertoma Club Scholarship is for seniors that have experienced hearing loss, hearing impairment or speech impairment. The Fishers Rotary Club Scholarship is for seniors who do not have a parent or grandparent that is a Rotary member. The Geist Elementary Scholarship is for seniors who attended Geist Elementary for at least one complete school year. The Hannah Wilson Memorial Scholarships is for seniors who participated on the Basketball Cheer Squad. Please check the FHS website, Naviance or the Guidance Office for more details.

Scholarship Opportunities

Seniors, look for the Uniform Application for Community Scholarships (UACS) on the FHS website under Quick Links. This online application is a great way to apply for many scholarships offered by Fishers and Hamilton County community organizations as well as the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation. Don't delay, the application deadline is March 28th. More information is available in Guidance.

Short Play Performances

Do you like going to the theatre, but find that plays are much too long? What if I were to tell you that you could see 3 short plays for only $3? That's a dollar per play! But wait, there's more! The jazz band will have small ensemble groups playing before the plays begin. Come to the one acts in the black box on Thursday at 7:00 or Friday at 4:00. Music starts 30 minutes before.

Summer Science Program at Purdue

High achieving juniors are invited to apply for the Summer Science Program in Biochemistry at Purdue University. Thirty-six students from around the world will participate in a 5 ½ week immersion experience conducting research in enzyme inhibition and drug discovery.
