City of Fishers Monsoon Madness

Four volunteers are needed from 10:30 a.m.–1:15 p.m. and four (4) volunteers are needed from 12:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Volunteers will get an event t-shirt to wear and should wear shorts and flip flops or shoes they don’t mind getting wet - your clothes might (probably will!) get wet while helping at the event. JV softball ends season with a win

The JV softball team defeated Ben Davis, 10-0. They finished the season with a 13-7 record. Chelsea Ransom was the winning pitcher with 5 strikeouts. Marcella Lewis, Lauren Jaynes, Abby Seifferlein and Emma Johnson led offensively with 2 hits each. Great season, Royals!

The JV softball team defeated Zionsville 19-8. Chelsea Ransom was the winning pitcher with 3 strikeouts. Reece Massey came in relief with 3 strikeouts. Kristen Albers had 3 hits. Madi Smith had a 3 run homerun, and a single. Lauren Jaynes had a single run homerun and a single hit. In the second game of the tournament, the team fell to Avon in the championship game, 8-11. Olivia Capuano had 3 hits. Emma Chase had a homerun and two singles. Lauren Jaynes had a three run homerun and two singles.

1 Kid 1 Book

We probably all have a few books lying around our homes that we’re not getting much use out of. Why not take the opportunity to donate them for a good cause? HSE Beyond Me and several other student clubs are helping put on a book drive, called “1 Kid 1 Book”. This will help start a library in Gambia. Donated books will be given to the Thiossane Institution, a non-profit that promotes children’s literacy, education, and community learning. Drop off your donated books in your 1st period teacher’s room in their book box. You can donate them directly by dropping them off in the library as well. See Mrs. Foster. HSE Beyond Me and other student clubs will be holding a book donation booth at the tables during lunches by attendance. Our goal is to donate 2,000 books to the 1 kid 1 book initiative. With every book you donate, you’re changing lives in Gambia! See Mr. Watson in B166 for more details.
