Kory Seitz
Varsity IF/3rd Base Coach
Coaching Experience: 10th season as a varsity assistant where his primary responsibility will be working with infielders. IHSBCA “2011 Assistant coach of the year”.
He is a 1996 HSE graduate where he was an 8 season letter winner playing in football (3), basketball (2), and baseball (3). In his 1995 football season he was selected as the “Hamilton County Player of the Year” along with being named all conference and 1st team all-metro while leading his team to an 11-1 record and sectional championship. In his 1995 baseball season he was also selected as the “Hamilton County Player of the Year” along with being named an All-State selection, all conference, and 1st team all-metro. In his 1996 baseball season he was selected to the North All-Star team as a second baseman.
He continued his playing career as a four year player at Indiana University where he graduated in 2000.
Coach Seitz is married to his wife Heather and they have 3 children: Kameron (6), and twins Haliegh and Karson (4).

• Graduate of Brown County High School 1965 - lettering 4 years in baseball and 2 years in basketball • Married - wife Kathy (teacher at HSE Jr High); children - Kory (Business Owner/Baseball Coach); Kristy (first grade teacher) Graduate degree from IU - BS in PE/Health with minor in Biology 1974. MS graduate degree in Secondary Education 1981 • At HSE high school from 1974-2001 ... teacher (6 years), athletic director (25 years), and coach (baseball 25 years; cross country 5 years, freshman basketball 3 years, asst. baseball coach 1 year) • 25 years as HSE varsity baseball coach • Coaching record of 514 wins and 191 losses (.729 winning %) • Won 9 sectionals, 3 regionals, 3 times one win from state finals • Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) President two times (1996 and 2004) • Chaired and responsible for IHSBCA State Clinic from 2001-2012 • Coached Indiana All-Stars in 1996 • Retired from HSE baseball in 2001 * Member of Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame (2001) • Retired from HSE Schools in 2005 • Varsity assistant baseball coach at HSE 2010-2012

Brian Smith
Varsity Pitching Coach
Coaching Responsibilities: Working primarily with Varsity Pitchers and developing JV Pitchers to play at the Varsity level.
Coach Smith is a 1992 HSE graduate where he lettered 3 seasons in baseball and played on the 1990 Sectional Championship and 1992 Conference Championship Teams. He was coached by 2001 Indiana Hall of Fame Inductee and current Varsity Assistant, Ken Seitz. In 1992, Coach Smith either broke or tied each of the individual pitching records for a single season. His lowest ERA record still stands (0.79). He was later selected to the North All-Star Team, named as an All Conference Player and made the HSE “Wall of Fame”. His greatest achievement as an HSE Pitcher was when he defeated McCutcheon in the 1991 “MAV Classic” which was the state’s #1 ranked team and had a 22 game winning streak.
In the summer, Coach Smith was recruited to play for the Cincinnati Midland Redskins (Ohio) which went on to win the 1992 AABC – Connie Mack National Championship in Farmington, New Mexico. In 2003, Coach Smith confirmed that the National Championship Team photo was on display in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Other Highlights from that Championship season were playing in a tournament in Battle Creek, Michigan against Derek Jeter.
Coach Smith went on to play D1 baseball at Morehead State University (Morehead, Ky) as a Pitcher from 1992 - 1996. In 1993 Morehead State won the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. In 1996, Coach Smith played in the Great Lakes League.
Coach Smith currently is President of a nationally recognized pharmaceutical consulting & tech firm that he incorporated in 2004. He has been married for 11 years to his wife Terri and they have 4 children – Sebastian (6), Alysianna (4), Beckett (2), Brielle (8 months).

Scott Sexton
JV/Freshman Pitching Coach
1st year HSE baseball volunteer
HSE graduate 2006 5 year varsity letter winner in Football (3) and Baseball (2). In his 2005 senior football season was named an All-State selection and First team all conference while leading his team to the State Championship game.
Scott went on to play baseball at Barry University in Miami, Florida where he was named to the Sunshine State Conference Honorable mention in 2009 with a 2.29 ERA in 22 appearances. Scott also set an NCAA record in 2010 recording 5 saves in 5 consecutive games.
Scott works as a Packaging Sales Specialist for xpedx, an International Paper Company.
Scott is soon to be married to his Fiancé Grace Walker and they have a 1 year old son named Elijah.
