Rick Wimmer
Head Football Coach – Offensive Coordinator

Head Coach Rick Wimmer was hired in January of 2006 to become the first football coach in the history of Fishers High School. Since going 1-10 during that inaugural season with no seniors, the Tigers have recorded a 36-11 record during the past 4 seasons and capped off the 2010 season with a 38-19 victory over Lawrence Central to win the Indiana 5A State Championship. The 2010 season brought a 14-1 record, a 2nd consecutive Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championship, and Sectional, Regional, and Semi-state Championships on their way to their first ever state championship in football. Because of the team’s success, Coach Wimmer was honored by being named the IFCA Dave Land Coach of the Year, the Indiana South All-Star Head Coach, the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Co-Coach of the Year (along with Mark Bless of Avon), and the Indianapolis Star Metro Coach of the Year. Wimmer was also honored by being nominated for two national awards. He was the Indianapolis Colts nominee for the NFL Don Shula Coach of the Year Award and was also the Indiana representative for the American Football Coaches Association Power of Influence Award. Fishers has become the 4th program where Wimmer has been a head coach including stints at Zionsville, Merrillville, and Greenwood. In all, his teams have won 9 conference championships, 5 sectional championships, 3 regionals, and 2 state championships. Six of his teams have finished the regular season with an undefeated record. In 28 years as a head football coach, he has compiled a career record of 201-104, including a 37-21 mark at Fishers. Wimmer is one of only four coaches in Indiana who has won state championships at two different schools joining Dick Dullaghan (Carmel / Ben Davis), Mo Moriarity (Bloomington So. / Carmel), and John Hart (Evansville Reitz / Warren Central). All four programs where he has been a head coach have won conference and sectional titles. A 1974 graduate of Huntington North High School and a 1978 graduate of the University of Indianapolis, Wimmer earned degrees in health, physical education, and English. He received his masters degree in physical education and English in 1982 from Ball State University. While at the U of I, Wimmer lettered in football serving as a backup QB and spent one year as an undergraduate assistant coach. He began his high school coaching career as a freshmen football coach at Rushville High School for Head Coach Tom Leisure and later became a varsity assistant and defensive coordinator under Head Coach Bob Pychinka. Wimmer became the Head Football Coach at Zionsville High School in 1983 where he compiled a record of 44-12. His five year tenure produced three undefeated regular seasons, three Rangeline Conference Championships, two sectional championships, and the Class 3A State Championship in 1987. In 1988 he began a nine-year stint at Merrillville High School where his teams produced a record of 63-29 and captured two Duneland Conference Championships, two undefeated regular seasons, and a sectional and regional title in 1992. Wimmer began rebuilding the football program at Greenwood in 1997. In his nine seasons there, he built a 57-42 record which included two Mid-State Conference Championships, an undefeated regular season in 2003, and a sectional championship in 2005. His last four teams at Greenwood tallied a 38-10 record. Many of Coach Wimmer’s players have earned high individual recognition. 41 former players have earned all-state honors, and 15 of his players have played in the Indiana North-South All-Star Game. More than 80 former players have gone on to play college football including three who have been drafted and played in the NFL. Wimmer has been honored as the University of Indianapolis Alumni Football Coach of the Year on five occasions (’85, ’87, ’92, ’98, ’09) and has been selected by other Indiana coaches to coach in the Indiana North-South All-Star game four times (’86, ’88, ’92, ‘11), serving as the South Head Coach in 2011. He has been selected as the Indianapolis Star’s Metro Coach of the Year on seven separate occasions (’85, ’87, ’03, ’04, ’05, ’09,’10) and has been named the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Coach of the Year three times (’07, ’09, ‘10) Rick teaches physical education at FHS. He and his wife Chrys reside in Fishers and have four children and four grandchildren.

John Jud
Defensive Coordinator – Defensive Ends
John Jud joined the Fishers High School football staff in the 2006 inaugural year and began teaching math at Fishers HS. After serving strictly as the defensive line coach in his first year, Coach Jud became the Defensive Coordinator in 2007 and has steadily improved the Tiger defense under his tutelage during the past four seasons. In 2009, John was voted IFCA Region 8 Assistant Coach of the Year and was an Assistant Coach on the South squad in the 2010 Indiana North-South All-Star Classic. Following the 2010 5A State Championship season, Jud was named Indiana Defensive Assistant Coach of the Year by the Indiana Football Digest. John played his high school football at Penn HS from 1986-1988 where he as named to the all-area team by the South Bend media. Coach Jud coached at Bloomington South HS in 1990 while attending Indiana University. In 1992 he returned to Penn HS as a coach for Indiana HS Hall of Fame Coach Chris Geeseman until 1997. While at Penn, John coached defensive tackles on three 5A state championship teams (’95, ’96, ’97). Upon graduating from Bethel College, John became a math teacher and assistant coach at West Noble High School in 1998 and assumed the defensive coordinator’s position in 1999. During his 6 seasons as Defensive Coordinator at West Noble, they won four conference championships after winning only 11 games in the six seasons prior to John’s arrival. John became the Defensive Coordinator at Lafayette Harrison High School in 2004 where he helped give Harrison its first winning season since 1996. John and his wife Nicole reside in Fishers. They have 2 sons - Zane, 13, and Beau, 3, - and a daughter Hadley, born in February.

Pat Schooley
Special Teams Coordinator – Linebackers
Pat Schooley came to FHS in 2007 where he teaches social studies. On the football field he coaches the linebackers and serves as the Special Teams Coordinator. Pat earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Hanover in 1991 and his Masters of Science at Indiana University in 2002. While at Hanover he lettered in both football and track. Coach Schooley started his teaching and coaching career at Michigan City Elston in 1992, serving as the Head Freshmen Coach. In 1993 he moved to Forest Manor Middle School in Indianapolis where he taught history and served as 7th and 8th grade football, basketball, and track coach. In 1997 he went to Arlington High School where he coached on the 1999 team that was ranked 7th in the AP and IFCA polls and finished 11-2. While at Arlington, Pat was part of their 5A sectional football championships in 1998 and 1999. In 2001 he moved to Pike HS, becoming the Defensive Coordinator in 2002 and Assistant Head Coach in 2004. While at Pike, Pat was also a part of the coaching staff for the 2002 basketball state runner-up team and the 2003 state championship team. Pat and his wife Latrica reside in Noblesville and have two children: Lauren 17 and Colin 10.

Michael Kelly
Offensive Line
Michael Kelly joined the Tiger Football staff in 2008, coaching the freshmen offensive and defensive line and began teaching in the Health and Physical Education department. In 2009 he worked as the varsity tight ends and defensive tackles Coach and JV assistant coach. Coach Kelly took over as the offensive line coach for the Tigers in 2010. Mike graduated in December of 2005 with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education K-12 from Taylor University where he was a 3-year letterman and starter at offensive tackle. Before coming to Fishers he was a teacher and a coach at Central Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, where he coached varsity wide receivers and defensive ends. While at Central he also served as the freshmen and JV offensive coordinator and one year as the freshmen defensive coordinator. He was a three-year starter at Jay County HS in Portland, Indiana, where he was named to the all conference team. He and his wife Erica have been married for 7 years and have a 3-year old son Karson and a 2-year old daughter Addison.

Adam Stevenson
Head JV Coach – Running Backs
Adam Stevenson was hired at Fishers HS in 2007 to teach English and coach the Tiger running backs. In 2009 Adam also became the Head JV Football Coach and has posted a 11-7 record in two seasons. He is a 2001 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern HS where he participated in football and baseball. Adam played runningback at Hanover College for four years. He was twice named to the all-conference team and was voted captain and team MVP during his senior year. Following graduation, he spent two seasons as the runningbacks coach at Hanover and did graduate work on his degree, serving as a research assistant for the Hanover College education department. He has been active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a student at HSE HS and at Hanover College as well as being active here at FHS. Adam serves as the coordinator for the Character Development Program and the Pre-Game Chapel Services for the football program. He and his wife Karly reside in Fishers and have a 1-year old son, Luke Michael.

Ryan Wimmer
Wide Receivers / JV Assistant
Ryan Wimmer joined the FHS Football staff in 2010 working as a wide receiver coach. Ryan graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in the spring of 2010 with a BS degree in Special Education. He currently works as an Instructional Aide in the Special Education department here at FHS. Ryan was a 3-sport athlete at Eastern HS competing in football, swimming, and track. While a student at USI, he was an assistant football coach at Evansville Bosse HS, starting as a middle school coach and working up as a varsity assistant.

Curt Trout
Defensive Backs (Safeties) / JV Assistant
Curt Trout began teaching English at FHS in 2009 and will begin his first season as the varsity secondary coach at Fishers after serving 2 years as the Head Freshmen Coach. Under Curt’s direction, his two freshmen squads posted a 15-3 record, winning the Hoosier Crossroads Conference in 2010. Before coming to Fishers, Curt served three years as a successful varsity head coach at two different programs. In 2006 and 2007, Curt was the Head Football Coach at Fountain Central HS where his teams recorded a 2-year record of 18-7 and a sectional championship in 2006. In 2008 he served as the head coach at Hamilton Heights HS where his team posted a 5-6 record. In 3 years as a varsity head football coach, Curt’s teams compiled a record of 23-13. Before becoming a head coach, Curt served 4 years under Indiana High School Hall of Fame Coach Mike Godan at Brownsburg HS where he coached linebackers and offensive line and served as the team’s Running Game Coordinator. He attained a B.S. degree in English from Ball State in 2002 and is a graduate of Pendleton Heights HS where he played football. He and his wife Jennifer have 2 children, a son Nick 5 and a daughter Mamie 3.

Matt Leber
Defensive Tackles / JV Assistant
Matt Leber joined the FHS football staff in 2010 and coaches tight ends and will assist Coach Jud with the defensive line, specifically coaching the defensive tackles. Matt was a three-year starter at Norwalk HS in Ohio where he was a team captain and a 2-way all conference lineman. As a defensive tackle at Baldwin Wallace University, Matt was a starter in 32 games, was named the Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2006, and was voted team co-captain in 2007. He graduated in December of 2007 with degrees in Sports Management and Recreation and Business Administration. Matt resides in Fishers and currently works as an adult recreation supervisor for the Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation Department where he has been employed since the spring of 2008. Matt and his wife Lindsay were married in June of 2011 and reside in Fishers.

Scott Rhodes
Volunteer Assistant - Quarterbacks
Scott Rhodes grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he played QB at Upper St. Clair HS. He went on to play QB for Indiana University in Pennsylvania and earned his BS degree. He coached for one year at Upper St. Clair HS before moving to the Indianapolis area in 1989. After moving to Fishers he became active in Fishers-HSE Youth Football program as a coach for 7 years. Scott joined Coach Wimmer’s staff here at FHS in 2006 and coaches the Tiger quarterbacks. He is the owner of Rhodes Insurance / Financial Group, Inc. He has resided in Fishers for 12 years and has a daughter, Kennedy 15, and a son Bauer 7.

Jayvis Mason
Volunteer DefensiveAssistant (CBs) / Defensive Scout Coordinator
Jayvis Mason returns as a volunteer coach and will assist Coach Trout with the defensive backs, specifically being responsible for the cornerbacks. He will also be responsible for coaching young players and serving as the Defensive Scout Coordinator. Coach Mason played cornerback for the Tigers during the first three years of the program’s existence from 2006-2008. He finished his senior season as a starter for the Tigers at cornerback and punt returner. He returned to FHS as a volunteer assistant the following fall and has helped develop many young players in the program each year. Jayvis currently is attending Ivy Tech and works at the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club.

Joe Calvin
Volunteer Offensive Assistant (TE) - Scout Team Coordinator
Joe Calvin will return to the Fishers HS football program after a 2-year absence where he will coordinate the offensive scout teams and serve as a offensive assistant coach working specifically with the TEs. From 2007-2008 Joe served as an assistant freshmen coach, the final year as defensive coordinator. Joe also served four years in the Fishers-HSE Youth Football program. Joe received his undergraduate degree in 1994 from Western Michigan University where he played football for one year. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2004. In 2005, Joe was the Defensive Coordinator for the Hoosier Hurricanes, a semi-pro football team. He is currently the Director of Quality for ONO. Joe is also licensed as a player agent with the NFL. He resides in Fishers with his wife Patricia and their three daughters: Tyler, 19; Jasmin, 18; Courteney, 15.

John Brooks
Volunteer Assistant - Technology and Video Coordinator
After serving 5 years as the FHS wide receiver coach and Assistant Head Coach, Coach Brooks stepped into a volunteer capacity in 2010 as a technology and video coordinator. Coach Brooks joined the FHS football staff in 2006 and has taught 6th grade math at Riverside Intermediate. This year he will teach math at Riverside Junior High. From 1990-92 John served in the United States Army as a driver and gunner on an armored tank. He received his undergraduate degree from Ball State University in 1995 and worked as the Director of Purchasing for Regal Rugs Incorporated for two years. In 1998 he began teaching in Jennings County School Corporation where he taught grades 3-6. John began as a middle school football coach in 1998, became a varsity assistant in 2002, and coached numerous positions during his tenure. John and his wife Kim reside in Fishers. They have two daughters: Katie 15 and Kirstie 11.

Jeff Harkin
Head Freshmen Coach - QB / TE / LB
After serving as the offensive line and defensive line coach for the FHS Freshmen team the past 2 seasons, Jeff Harkin will take over as the new Head Freshmen Coach in 2011. Coach Harkin was hired in 2009 and teaches social studies at Riverside Junior High. Jeff attended high school at Hoffman Estates HS in Illinois where he was a 3-year letterman, playing offensive and defensive line, and was named to the all-conference and all-area teams during his final two seasons. He continued to coach as a volunteer at his high school in summer camps and workouts following his high school career. Jeff graduated from Indiana University in 2007 with an education degree in social studies. Coach Harkin also serves as the JV Baseball Coach at FHS.

Brad Kroft
Assistant Freshmen Coach - Receivers / DBs
Brad Kroft graduated from Ball State University in 2000 with degrees in General Studies and Computer Applications. He later returned to school at IUPUI to earn his degree in Elementary Education and worked at Fall Creek Intermediate as an Instructional Aide. Currently, he teaches at Cumberland Road Elementary. While at BSU, Brad was a punter in the football program where he earned Special Teams Player of the Year in his final season. Brad served one year as a volunteer kicking coach with Ball State, and joined the Fishers HS staff in the same capacity in 2008. In 2009 Brad became a freshmen assistant working with receivers, DBs, kickers, and punters. Coach Kroft graduated from Marietta HS in Ohio where he was a three-sport athlete and earned all-conference and all-state honors in football. Brad also played 3 years in the North American Football League for the Indiana Tornadoes where he was the all-league punter in 2003 and 2004. Brad and his wife Heidi reside in Fishers.

Ben Wyss
Assistant Freshman Coach - OL / DL
Coach Ben Wyss will join the Fishers High School teaching and coaching staff this year where he will teach math in addition to his duties as the freshmen line coach. Coach Wyss played high school football for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers HS, being a part of four state championships. He then played at Indiana University where he started at Center and in 2007 was a finalist for the Rimmington Award which is given to the top college Center in the country. Coach Wyss has spent the past three years as an offensive and defensive line coach at Mt. Vernon HS.

Chuck Shroyer
Volunteer Freshmen Assistant Coach – RBs
Chuck Shroyer began coaching at FHS in 2009 as a volunteer freshmen assistant and brought nearly 40 years of coaching experience at various levels to the Fishers coaching staff. Chuck is retired from a 37 year production management career with 3M. He coached 27 years in various youth football programs. He has coached on the high school level in various capacities at Southwood HS, Tippecanoe Valley HS, Lapel HS, and Hamilton Heights HS. He also spent 4 years as a volunteer with Dakota Wesleyan University from 1974-1978. Chuck is the author of a book Multiple Offense from a Wing T Base published by Coaches Choice in 2006. Chuck and his wife Janice have 3 sons, a daughter, and 13 grand-children.
