The Indiana Football Coaches Association released its 2011 Academic All-State Football Team this past month. Two Tigers were named to the team based on GPA, class rank, and SAT or ACT test scores of current seniors. Making the IFCA Academic All-State Football Team were Zach Gorge and Michael Kemna. Congratulations to Zach and Michael.

A speed and strength camp for athletes in grades 5, 6 and 7 will be held the weeks of February 27th, March 5th, March 12th and March 19th.

The Fishers Gridiron Club, Coach Rick Wimmer, and the Fishers coaching staff and players will be hosting its annual Tiger Night Lights for boys in grades 1-4 on March 9 at Fishers HS. Participants can take part in Tiger football drills, games, the Tiger Combine and Obstacle Course, and share pizza, fun, and football with the Tiger coaching staff and players. For the fourth year in a row, football players and coaches will be taking part in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 25th 10am at Eagle Creek Reservoir. This event raises money for children and adults with intellectual disabilities so they can participate in athletic competitions throughout their lives. During the past three years, members of the football program have raised more than $20,000 for this cause. All players, parents, siblings and coaches are encouraged to take the plunge or donate.
