Hamilton Southeastern Junior High is located on Cyntheanne Road in southeastern Hamilton County just north of Indianapolis. School colors are blue and white, and our school mascot is "Panthers." We are comprised of students in grades seven and eight. Rapid growth in student population continues to be a trend in the Hamilton Southeastern School Corporation.
he essence of any school is, of course, the people who give it life. The faculty, staff, and administration have made a commitment of high expectations for both themselves and for their students. This ideal added to the fact that the students who attend Hamilton Southeastern consistently score well above the state and national averages on standardized tests combine to form an enthusiastic learning atmosphere. School spirit, high performance expectations, a past history of significant student achievement, combined with strong parental support for education make HSJH a school where excellence is more than a slogan
Our normal school hours are 7:35 A.M. - 2:45 P.M.
The Staff at Hamilton Southeastern Junior High, in partnership with the community, strives for educational excellence by providing experiences that challenge students to become effective decision-makers, problem-solvers and communicators.
PAWS is a character education initiative that focuses on students being positive, accountable, well-mannered and safe at all times. This is a school wide initiative that acknowledges and rewards students for doing what is right and exhibiting the four PAWS expectations. We honor two Students of the Week through teacher recommendations as well as one Staff Member of the Week. Nine students, one from each department, are named Student of the Month and are rewarded with their photo on the Student of the Month bulletin board and a trip to the NCAA Hall of Champions. In addition to recognizing students, we host two classroom meetings each month that focus on; character, leadership, bullying, cultural competency, problem solving and more. The goal is to help students become effective decision-makers, problem-solvers and communicators.
