Representatives from the United States Military Academy - Army and the United States Naval Academy are visiting HSE on November 20th. Any student who is interested in learning more about attending one of military academies can sign up on Naviance or in the CCA office.

Color Guard Clinic at HSE Sat. Nov. 18

Tomorrow - HSE is hosting the Indiana Color Guard Association Student clinic. There will be 300 color guard students on campus to learn and improve their talents in the field of flag, rifle, saber, and dance. The clinic uses various parts of the building and runs 8am to 5pm.

Delta Sigma Theta Black College Tour

Fishers Parks & Rec. Volunteer Opportunities

If you’re interested in any of the below volunteer opportunities with Fishers Parks & Recreation in November or December, please email Dan Domsic at or call 317-595-3151. Fishers Winter Wonderland: Santa Clause is coming to town! Volunteers will help in areas where needed, which will include an activity tent and reindeer. Volunteers will also help with setup and cleanup. We’re looking for nine more people to join our volunteer team for a shift that will be from 5:15 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 30. Volunteers must be 16 years old or older to help. Pictures with Santa: Santa has two photo ops planned in Fishers this season, and Fishers Parks & Recreation needs four more volunteers on each night to help make it a great experience for families. The shifts are from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 7, and volunteers must be 14 or older to be on the team. Volunteers for Pictures with Santa will assist with refreshments, crowd control, photographs, handing out frames, etc. and are encouraged to wear red, green, or holiday festive shirts, as well as Santa hats, reindeer antlers, etc. Breakfast with the Grinch: He’s a rotten one, that Mr. Grinch. But he’s stopping by one of our local parks for breakfast, and the community has the chance to meet him. We’re looking for one more volunteer to help us out from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. with this event on Dec. 9, which will have similar responsibilities as Pictures with Santa. The volunteer must be 16 or older.

Royal Eco Club Climate Change Panel

Uniform Application for Community Application

The Uniform Application For Community Scholarships (UACS) gives seniors access to 33 local scholarships thru a single application. These scholarships are offered exclusively to HSEHS & FHS students. Students apply by completing one online application. The UACS is available online on the HSEHS and HSE Foundation websites.

Boys Lacrosse Winter Call Out

We have a team for you. We will travel to other schools, and you can help us host an invitational for other schools in March, and maybe qualify to go to Purdue for the State competition in the spring. Paintball Club

The Paintball Club participated in their first scenario event this past weekend at the White River Paintball facility in Anderson, IN and took home a third place trophy. Participants included Konner Coverdale, Kyle Gray, Ryan Nelson, Dylan Gray, Brian Lockhart and Travon Ternoir. Travon also took home a most valuable team award. Congratulations to the club members and their efforts.

Congratulations to these band students who were selected to perform in the Indiana Bandmasters Association Honor Band this weekend. They are Lexi Gardner, Will Hancock, Caroline Powell, Shelby Hines, MAKAYLA Triplett, and Ally Wren. The concert featuring 120 musicians from Central Indiana is this Sunday in New Castle.

Engineering Design & Development is Headed to the B.E.S.T. Robotics Championships

FanStand tshirt contest

HSE Fanstand is having their first annual t-shirt contest. Students can design any long or short sleeve shirt and submit a paper copy to the fan stand by November 17th. We encourage it to be fun and colorful with out of the box designs using the new or old lion head logo. The winner will receive two shirts that they designed as well as having it sold in the HSE Fanstand Store. Get Creative Royals!!

Food Drive this Week

Just a reminder, this week is HSE's annual food drive! Please bring any non-perishable food items to your first period class any day this week. The Come to Me Food Pantry has been out of food since June and they need our help more than ever. Our goal this year is 15,000 pounds of food - any little bit helps. Thanks Royals!

Student Council Food Drive

The annual food drive was a great success, ending the week with a total of 11,330 pounds of food donated to the Come to Me Food Pantry. The winning Superhero was the Black Widow and the winning SMART period was Mrs. Heckly's class! Great job, Royals! Student Council will be making one more donation later this week so you can still donate food at the home swim meet and boys basketball games tonight! Look for the bins outside of the events to place any items you bring with.

Lugar Scholarship

The Lugar Minority Scholarship is now available in the CCA Office. Seniors who may apply should be African American, Hispanic or Native American, have an intention to attend an Indiana college or university, have a 3.0 GPA and have a combined SAT score of 1000 or an ACT composite of 22.
