APPLICATION PROCESS

Apply early! The Guidance Office needs TWO weeks to process and mail your applications-so plan your timing with that in mind—especially for January 1 deadlines. Our last day of school before that is Dec. 21 so the application needs to be turned in by Dec. 7.

Steps for Applying to College
  1. Complete an on-line application with a college through their web site. (For steps on how to do this WITHOUT parchment, please see below).
  2. To Send Transcript: Go to www.parchment.com
    • Register with Parchment.
    • Request that your transcript be sent to that college.
    • A Secondary School Report (SSR form) will be automatically generated through Parchment for Indiana Colleges and your counselor will complete it on-line.
    • If your college is out of state and not completed through the Common Application, print the counselor page (SSR form) and bring it to the counseling office.
    • If you need teacher recommendations, you may either give the teachers stamped addressed envelopes or mail them yourself.
    • You will receive two e-mail confirmations from Parchment: one when your transcript has been sent and another when your counselor recommendation has been submitted.
    • If the colleges you applied to require mid-year and/or final reports to be sent, it is your responsibility to bring the mid-year and/or final report forms to the counseling office.
    • If you are using the Common Application, either print it off and bring it into the guidance office or go to the Common App Web Site and complete it there.
  3. Send SAT/ACT Scores – Go to www.act.org for to send ACT scores. Go to www.collegeboard.com to send SAT scores. These should go directly to the university or college in which you direct.
Steps for Students completing a paper application without Parchment
  1. Bring the completed and signed applications to the guidance secretary or complete the application on-line and bring the counselor form.
  2. Bring $2.00 per application to cover processing and postage
  3. Include a check made out to the college for the specified application fee if not already paid on line. Do not send cash.
