Welcome to Hamilton Southeastern High School. Our students are members of a high school of statewide and national distinction that offers a committed faculty and exceptional facility. Southeastern is a four year comprehensive high school serving approximately 2100 students in grades 9-12. We are located in one of the nation’s fastest growing communities – a community with high academic and social expectations for our schools.

Our academic performance record is exceptional. Traditionally our students score as one of the top five school districts on the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress (ISTEP). Our SAT and ACT scores are far above the national average. In November of 2005 we were honored with the prestigious NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE AWARD presented by the U.S. Department of Education. Our students and staff have been repeatedly honored at both the state and national level with championships and awards of excellence. Almost 90% of graduates enroll in post-secondary programs with over 80% attending four year institutions.

Curriculum, Athletics and Activities

Our curriculum offers extensive opportunities for all students including courses in the national model Project Lead the Way (Pre-engineering, Bio-Technology, and Bio-Medical), the Academy of Finance, as well as Advanced College Project (Indiana University courses taught on our campus). We offer 28 College Board Advanced Placement Courses with 23 to be offered in 2007-2008. Students may also elect to enroll in our district’s International Baccalaureate Program. Agreements for both college and high school credit have been signed with Indiana University, Purdue University, Indiana/Purdue University Indianapolis, Ivy Tech State College, the University of Indianapolis, and Marion College.

We also offer an extensive program of extra-curricular activities including our national championship Mock Trial Team, state champion Academic Competition Teams, Film Club, Student Council, and National Honoraries just to name a few. As a member of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference we have won the prestigious Landis Trophy for three consecutive years. This award is given to the school which scores the highest in both boys and girls athletics.

Hamilton Southeastern High School is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the College Board, and has received a FIRST CLASS commission from the Indiana Department of Public Instruction.
