Fishers, HSE high schools honored for Advanced Placement performance

The Indiana Department of Education’s (IDOE) 2011 Advanced Placement (AP) Access and Success program recognized both Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern high schools August 10 for student performance on AP exams. Both high school had 28 percent of their students pass at least one AP exam with a score of 3 or higher. IDOE honored 21 schools for having 25 percent or more of their students pass at least one AP exam, two for greatest one-year growth in AP success and three for greatest steady growth in AP success over five years. Attending the event were Governor Mitch Daniels, Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett, Commissioner for Higher Education Teresa Lubbers and College Board Midwestern Region Vice President Ileana Rodriguez.
