FHS Academic Super Bowl teams place in state competition
May 10th, 2012
The Fishers High School Academic Super Bowl Interdisciplinary Team and Math Team both brought home the state runner-up plaques in Class I. It was a back and forth battle of 25 questions for the Interdisciplinary Team that started seventh and climbed to the runner - up spot. The math squad also finished second among 24 state finalists but could not overcome the only perfect score put up by Lafayette Harrison.
In January, 285 schools started preparing for the regional Academic Super Bowl that took place in 19 locations across the state April 17. Six squads make up each school's team: English, math, social studies, science, fine arts and interdisciplinary with a general theme of study for all teams. This year's theme was Colonial America. Of the 285 schools, only 24 moved on to the state finals—seven of those in Class 1 with Fishers (based on enrollment).
