World Language Parent Information Night

Release Date: February 13th, 2012

Students who have achieved a letter grade of B or higher in both semesters of seventh grade English and Composition 7 and passed the language arts portion of ISTEP+ are eligible to enroll in the first year of high school honors prep world language during their 8th grade year. Although many students qualify for the program it is not necessarily the appropriate choice for all. The intent of this course is to prepare students to enter the second year of the honors world language program their freshman year in high school, in order to take a total of five years of world language prior to graduation.

Parents often have questions regarding the content of these honors prep world language courses and the implications of taking such a course in junior high. An evening information session was held on February 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fishers High School cafeteria. Lori Trulock, Junior High World Language Department Chairperson, and Linda Brown, Fishers High School Guidance Department Chairperson, provided important information regarding the world language program.

The Power Point presentation, which provides information presented at the February 23 meeting, is posted below and on all junior high school websites.
