For the second time this year, the Lady Tigers defeat Hamilton Southeastern, this time to advance to the sectional finals. The #1 doubles team of Ellen Hornett & Olivia Ruthsatz got the team off to a quick start with an easy 6-3, 6-3 win. Then the team lost the top 2 singles spots to go down 1 – 2. After losing the first set at both #3 singles and #2 doubles Fishers needed a comeback. First it was Jessica Lorenz who completely turned her match around to tie the day with a 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 victory. It all came down to the #2 doubles team of Caitlin Gardner & Jayne Henn. After losing the first set 2-6, they dominated the second set 6-1. Fishers jumped out to an early lead and held on to win the third set 6-2 and sends Fishers into the sectional championships.

The varsity tennis team finished their season 15 – 1 after defeating Lawrence Central Tuesday. The match was dominated by Fishers at every court. #1 singles Kailey Eaton won 6-2, 6-0. Benedicte Hejgaard and Jessica Lorenz both won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0. The #1 doubles team of Ellen Hornett & Olivia Ruthsatz got off to an uncharacteristic quick start and carried it to a 6-0, 6-3 victory, while the #2 doubles team of Jayne Henn & Caitlin Gardner finished the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 victory.

The JV girls tennis team lose their last match of the season in a close one against Lawrence Central on Tuesday night. Winning at #1 singles was Megan Moriarty. Also winning at #1 singles was Madi Mason. Winning at #3 singles was Jessica Hillenbrand. Winning at #1 doubles was Amber and Ashley Kline. Winning at #2 doubles was Ashna Dayal and Krissy Kokjohn. Also winning at #2 doubles was Erika Robinson and Sarah Sipher. Winning at #3 doubles was Katie Pierce and Andrea Moss.

After 3 attempts to complete the match, the girls JV tennis team defeats Westfield 16-2. Winning at #1 singles was Megan Moriarty. Madi Mason won at #2 singles. Winning at #3 singles was Claire Atkinson. Amber and Ashley Kline won at #1 doubles. Winning at #2 doubles was Kay Jacoob and Jessica Hillenbrand. Ashna Dayal and Krissy Kokjohn won at #3 doubles. Winning at #4 doubles was Erika Robinson and Sarah Sipher. Korinne Wolfmeyer and Andrea Moss won at #5 doubles. Winning at #6 doubles was Alyssa Adili and Julia Lanthier. Natalie Ciocca and Katie Hasler won at #7 doubles. Winning at #9 doubles was Maddy Stegall and Hannah Burris. Madi Mason and Meera Ghetia played back and won at #11 doubles.

After going undefeated during the conference season, the varsity girls tennis team won the HCC Tournament on Saturday. This was the Lady Tigers first conference title win. They beat HSE by two points to take the title away from the reigning champs. Jessica Lorenz finished in the top spot winning the conference title at #3 singles. The doubles team of Olivia Ruthsatz and Ellen Hornett took the conference title at #1 Doubles. Finishing all conference was Kailey Eaton, Benedict Hejgaard, Jessica Lorenz, Olivia Ruthsatz and Ellen Hornett. Bringing home the trophy by winning their last match against Brownsburg was the #2 doubles team of Jayne Henn and Caitlin Gardner.
