Summer Reading
FCI encourages all students to continue reading throughout this summer vacation.
We find students who participate in summer reading return to school ready to
learn, improve their reading achievement and skills, increase their enjoyment of
reading, are more motivated to read, are more confident in their reading, and
perceive reading to be more important.
Below are recommended titles from our school library media specialist, Ms. Terri
Zabonick. Please consider these as you make your summer reading selections. The
lists are organized by the grade levels the students will enter in August.
Incoming 5th graders, we encourage you to select from the 5th grade attachment.
Incoming 6th graders, we encourage you to select from the 6th grade attachment.
Enjoy the summer! Spend time outdoors with family and friends and read a minimum
of one good book! See you in August!
