Read for the Record Day is coming to Lantern Road Elementary

Release Date: September 21st, 2011

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Day is rapidly approaching – October 6, 2011! This year students across the globe will read Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney on that day. Read more about the project at http://www.jstart.org/site/PageServer?pagename=rftr_homepage.

At Lantern Road Elementary on October 6, Lori Silbert, library media specialist; Ellynn Stein, school counselor; and Danielle Thompson, principal, will be dressing in red pajamas and reading to each classroom. They will discuss the book with the students. Students will be asked to dress in red that day. At the end of the day, they will tally the number of students who heard the story; and Silbert will enter the information on Jumpstart’s website. Last year the students enjoyed hearing The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats

“What a fun way to promote literacy, bring awareness to those in need and unite students around the globe!” said Silbert.
