HSSF grant allows students to experience renewable energy activities
June 4th, 2012
Chris Larson’s fourth grade REACH class from Sand Creek Elementary School used hands-on activities to learn more about reusable and renewable energy through a grant from the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation. On May 23, each student created his or her own working wind turbine that generated enough energy to light a light bulb. Next, students worked in pairs to create solar-operated cars. Additionally, students worked in a small group to learn about and create a hydro-powered vehicle.
