Volunteering is a vital part of our district. We encourage both parents AND community members who don't
have children in the district to volunteer whenever possible. Below are some opportunities for you to
volunteer at your child's school.

Volunteers that work with the librarian to shelve books and help students at the computer station. Volunteers are especially welcome during lunch hours so that the library remains open all day long for student check out.

A volunteer math program that supports 3rd and 4th graders both for enrichment and remediation. Volunteers are scheduled to attend at least 1 hour per week on the same day from 2-3:00. Volunteers work with small groups of students.

Volunteers donate at least 1 hour per week and work with small groups of children in need of reading support K-2. Volunteers are paired with a teacher. Three hours of training and 1 day of shadowing required to participate.

Volunteers help support whole group instruction for reading, specifically for students during no new instruction time. Volunteers are asked to donate a minimum of 30 minutes per week during the same time and day each week. Volunteers are paired with anther adult and will oversee students working at literacy stations, hosting book clubs or monitoring students working independently.

Three volunteers needed for our Great Leaps program (a program to help struggling readers). We are looking for someone to come every Friday from 2:15-3:30 and every other Thursday from 2:15-3:30. This program is very organized and I can train the volunteers in about ½ hour. The volunteer meets individually with some students. They listen to the students read some passages and record their results. The volunteer spends about 5-8 minutes with each student.
